HIGHER SCHOOL OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

The Higher School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Escuela Superior de Medicina Tradicional China), attached to the European Foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1989 and is pioneer in the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Spain. From 1990, the Higher School of TCM provides the Higher Studies of TCM (basic and complete training in TCM, taught in Spanish). And from 2003 it also provides seminaries and continuous learning courses on Acupuncture and TCM to acupuncturists and TCM practitioners, by means of the collaboration of the Continuous Learning Institute, Practitioner’s Register and Beijing and Yunnan Universities of TCM.

Due to the fact that the Higher School of TCM has been the first learning center in Spain to introduce the new technologies among its teaching resources, our students can learn TCM through two different modalities: with partial attendance and on-line (e-learning).

The Higher School of TCM counts with three centres of support in important Spanish cities: Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.

In order to follow the studies successfully, the student is provided with teaching aids of the Higher School of TCM, edited according to the curricula of the studies and to the academic advice of the teaching team of Beijing and Yunnan Universities of TCM (P.R. China).

The academic qualification obtained after finishing the Higher Studies of TCM is Higher Technician in TCM; Practician Cycle in Acupuncture (three years) and/or Practician Cycle in Traditional Chinese Therapy (four years). This double qualification is acknowledged and guaranteed by the European Foundation of TCM, Beijing and Yunnan Universities of TCM and PEFOTS (Pan European Federation of TCM Societies).
